[edit] Lack of information
Unfortunately, there are certain immediate gaps in the life of Major-General Wimberley. These are;
- The details of his service on the Western Front, 1915-1918.
- The particulars of his winning the Military Cross.
- The details of his service in Russia.
- His activities in India.
Most of the information in this article is derived from the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, personal knowledge and the internet. In due course I shall put up the "References" section, scant tho it is. -- Harlsbottom 22:54, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Decorations
The awards field of the infobox reads: "DSO, MC, DSO". Does this mean he received the DSO twice? Isn't the correct form "DSO and bar"? --Raoulduke47 11:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- My apologies, but I have no idea why I put that in the awards box. A brief overview of my sources says that he didn't get a DSO until 1942, by which time his active army career had a year to run, so I doubt he was awarded a bar to it. I've added the date of his DSO, although I have no specific details on it. --Harlsbottom 22:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
