[edit] Network

On what network did Double Dare actually originate? Was it Nickelodeon? Marcus2 | Talk 19:25, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

By all accounts, yes. And whether or not there were one or two episodes elsewhere, Nickelodeon is "the network Double Dare aired on." That infobox line about "original" network is used to differentiate between original and syndicated runs. Not a couple of episodes but entire runs. Double Dare's run was on Nickelodeon, regardless of other minutiae.
Judging by your User Talk, you have a hard time with Wikipedia. Here's a word of advice: editing an article based on a personal assumption from info not related to your edit, as you did here, is bad. SFT | Talk 19:17, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The set

I added in a section on the show's set, since I'm surprised no one mentioned the most noticeable change of the glass-block design behind Marc's podium. I don't, however, know why the change was made, or when it was made. SchuminWeb (Talk) 06:18, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Passage on "the set"

Re: "Halfway when the show moved to Orlando, the phsyical challenge and obstacle course floor bacame separted as two different floors)"

I believe that the obstacle course was always straight on the studio floor (which was white), while the physical challenge was done on the set itself, which had a blue floor. I do recall, towards the end of the run, that the area where the podiums were and the rest of the set floor were separated by a few steps.

One thing for sure, though, is that the way that bit is worded is a bit odd and needs work. SchuminWeb (Talk) 06:14, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

IMHO, the whole section needs to be removed, or at least severely trimmed down, as it could be considered trivial, fancruft, and/or original research. I already reverted the recent edits explaining the number of "bean" designs on the set in later years and some lines that were apparently drawn on some of the stage elements, as these are blatant touch-ups that only a true die-hard fan of the show would notice. Trivia and cruft of this degree are not welcome on articles that should be of an encyclopedic nature. --Goldrushcavi 01:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Happy 20th Anniversary, Double Dare

October 2006 marks the 20th Anniversary of the show that brought orignal Double Dare,Super Sloppy Double Dare,Family Double Dare,Super Special Double Dare & Double Dare 2000 to brodcasted on Nickelodeon since 1986,in syndication & on Nick GAS since 1999,Double Dare.66.80.76.138 22:06, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] DD's 20th anniversary Marathon

in celebration of Double Dare's 20th Anniversary.the question is, when Nick GAS air a marathon featuring Double Dare,Super Sloppy Double Dare,Family Double Dare & Double Dare 2000?134.124.93.232 16:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be cooler if Nickelodeon did that instead of Nick GAS.69.141.79.71 02:04, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Double Dare 2000 comment

"goooze" means fart in Farsi. I don't know if it's relevant or purely coincidental, but I thought I'd mention it here and let the primary editors of this article consider its importance. Siyavash 20:33, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Beat the Clock"...?? =

I question the assertion that Double Dare was based on Beat the Clock. I guess they are in the sense that both shows featured contestants doing phyiscal stunts, but one was definitely not directed inspired by the other..."distant cousins" seems more appropriate. SamJ93 17:32, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

This "factoid" definitely needs some citation(s) to back it up if it's going to be mentioned... --Goldrushcavi 01:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Assistant "Jamie"

Anyone have any info on the assistant named "Jamie". He was super-hot

Please sign your comments. "Jamie's" status should be reserved for a fan website, as well as opinions as to how he (or anyone else) supposedly looked. --Goldrushcavi 01:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Double Dare on GSN?

Am I reading this right, Double Dare (Summers) is coming to GSN soon? Nextbarker 04:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC)nextbarker

No, someone added useless speculation to the show's "episode status". I would never expect GSN to air anything owned by, let alone related to, Nickelodeon or MTV, both of which are owned by Viacom. --Goldrushcavi 01:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
As I am writing this, I am watching the CBS version on GSN. So no, it is not the Summers vesion. But the original Double Dare is on GSN. Codelyoko193 01:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New article for Double Dare 2000?

I think it deserves one, the other things were just spinoffs with minor changes, Double Dare 2000 was actually a separate series. If there was a separate article, maybe someone would find more information on it as opposed to just the paragraph it has in the Double Dare article. I copied and pasted the information on it into the article's page if someone decides to create it, but since it's a redirect page there is no visible difference, it is only there when you click to edit the page.

Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page.
