From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Douglas and District Football Club are a football (soccer) club from Douglas on the Isle of Man. They compete in the Isle of Man Football League and the Isle of Man Football Combination.

Formed in 2002, they wear red and blue shirts, blue shorts and red socks (uniforms). They play their home games at Groves Road in Douglas. The club evolved from Barclays (IOM) F.C. who were formed in 1996. As the number of players affiliated with the bank decreased, the club made the decision to change their name.

Following the resignation of Andrew Paul as First Team Manager in 2007, Brian Duffy was appointed. After 6 games, Duffy resigned. James Smith was then appointed as Manager. The Combination Team was managed by John Dryden-Orr until February 2008 with Shaun Gritton and Ian Oldreive taking over as Caretaker Managers.

The Chairman of the Club is Enzo Ciapelli, Secretary is Ian Oldreive, Treasurer is Carole Corlett and FA Representative is Shaun Gritton.

In 2005, David Quirk was elected as the club's first Life Member.
