Douglas Y. Yongue

Douglas Y. Yongue, Sr. (born March 20, 1937) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's forty-sixth House district, including constituents in Hoke, Robeson and Scotland counties. A contractor and retired educator from Laurinburg, North Carolina, Yongue is currently (2007-2008 session) serving in his seventh term in the state House.
Yongue serves on the following General Assembly committees: Appropriations (Chairman); Education (Member); Education Subcommittee on Education (Member); Ethics (Vice-Chairman); Federal Relations and Indian Affairs (Member); Rules, Calendar and Operations of the House (Member); State Personnel (Member).
Yongue is listed on the "No Gifts List", a list maintained for Members who indicate that no gift items are to be delivered to their offices located in the Legislative Building or Legislative Office Building (LOB).
Currently gifts from lobbyist or lobbyist principals are covered in the new ethics law - G.S. 138A-32 (c) No public servant, legislator, or legislative employee shall knowingly accept a gift, directly or indirectly, from a lobbyist or lobbyist principal as defined in G.S. 120C-100.
