Douglas Romanow is one of Canada’s preeminent record producers. He spent his early years playing keyboards and writing for indie pop bands, developing skills as an arranger and programmer. In his early twenties, he was already taking the helm of recording projects, producing recordings at Phase One Studios, Metalworks, Grant Avenue Studio, and Sounds Interchange. In the last sixteen years since then, he has added an impressive three hundred credits to his name, and has garnered many awards and loyal clients. Romanow travels Canada and the world recording, and mixes many of his recordings back in Toronto at Fire Escape Recording.
Romanow’s greatest talent lies in magnifying artistic performances, delivering the best representation for each artist he works with. His passion for narrative songwriting is equaled by his love for sonic landscapes, and he works tirelessly to integrate each lyric, arrangement and setting. Douglas Romanow is known for his musicality, his clear and amiable leadership style, his strong communication skills and his dry sense of humour. He lives in Toronto, Ontario with his wife and two daughters.
