Douglas Hodgkin

Douglas Hodgkin is an American political scientist and author, and is a professor emeritus at Bates College.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Hodgkin received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.A. and Ph.D from Duke University. Hodgkin taught for 34 years at Bates, retired in 2000, and remains a professor emeritus.

Hodgkin published numerous articles and books about political topics, especially New England politics. In 2005, he published Fractured Family, a short book on the Maine courts.

He is a Republican Party activist in Maine and has run for political office several times as a Republican.
