Douglas Glover (writer)

Douglas Herschel Glover BA, MFA (born 14 November 1948 near Waterford, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian writer. He was raised on his family's tobacco farm where he was born.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree for philosophy from York University in 1969. He then continued philosophy studies at the University of Edinburgh. After various newspaper jobs throughout Canada, he then lived in various places in the United States. In 1982, he gained a Master of Fine Arts through the University of Iowa's Iowa Writers' Workshop.
Since the early 1990s, Glover has lived in Wilton, New York teaching at Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont, at Skidmore College and at the University of Albany's New York State Writers Institute.
He has two sons Jacob Glover and Jonah Glover and is divorced. Despite his long residency in the United States, he retains Canadian citizenship. Most of his books have only been published by small publishers.
