The school was burned down, by certain accounts by a janitor who was displeased with the decision to tear the school down and rebuild it, in the early 90s. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1992.

The school commonly has two to three resource officers on hand to deal with any problems that may arise that pertain to illegal substances, fights, and weapons. The school has three counselors, each split up to deal with a certain alphabet range.
