From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doug Wright (1917–1983) was the English-born creator of the long-running comic strip Doug Wright's Family, or Nipper, and namesake for the Canadian Wright Awards. He served in the RCAF during World War Two, drawing cartoons for fellow servicemen. He drew editorial cartoons which were collected into volumes during the Seventies. His Nipper was a wordless masterpiece, capturing suburban Canadian life with wit and a keen eye.
