Doug Schreiber

Doug Schreiber (born August 25, 1963) is the head baseball coach at Purdue. Through 9 seasons as the head coach, he has posted a 253-252 record. From 2004 to 2006, Purdue qualified for three consecutive Big Ten tournaments. His 2006 team went 31-27, and defeated no.2 North Carolina. In 2001, Purdue finished 2nd in the Big 10, for its best finish in over 30 years. The 2001 team upset number 1 ranked Rice to start the season.

He ranks second in school history in all-time wins, and first in conference wins with 132. From 1995 to 1998, he served as the top assistant coach at Arizona State. In 1994, he was an assistant coach for a Notre Dame team that finished 46-16.

He was a four year starter at Purdue himself from 1983 to 1986. He was a second baseman, who appears in the school record books for multiple categories. He ranks 1st all time in school history in walks(132), fourth in runs scored(159), third in games played(220), and sixth in triples(9).
