Doug Hill

Doug Hill is the Chief Meteorologist for ABC 7 News/WJLA-TV. He is the meteorologist for ABC 7 News at 5, 6, and 11. He has been awarded the "Seal of Approval" from the American Meteorological Society[citation needed]. Hill has also been honored the Washington Emmy Award for Broadcast Excellence[citation needed]. He has also served as a meteorologist for affiliates in Virginia, Washington, DC, and Michigan. Before being a meteorologist, he served as a police officer for Prince George's County[citation needed]. He provides morning and afternoon weather forecasts for WTOP News as well.
On November 1, 2007, at the National Theatre, he made an appearance in the presentation of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He correctly spelled the word "flugaloom" but misspelled "xeropthalmiology."[citation needed]
