Doubt is an upcoming film adaptation of the John Patrick Shanley play Doubt. Starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis, the film is directed by Shanley, produced by Scott Rudin and shot in New York City.

Set in 1964, Doubt centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student, but he denies the charges. Much of the play's quick-fire dialogue tackles themes of religion, morality and authority.

Production began on December 1, 2007.[1] The film, which centers on a Bronx Catholic School, was filmed in various areas of The Bronx and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.[2]
