Double Brown

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Double Brown is a beer produced by DB Breweries in New Zealand. It is considered an affordable beer since it is priced below mainstream brands owned by the company such as Tui, Export Gold and DB Draught. Double Brown is not marketed heavily as the main brands due to its cost.

Double Brown is featured in the Lee Tamahori film Once Were Warriors (film) where bottles are seen in the pub at the beginning of the film.

Although it is cheaper than other similar beers available in New Zealand, there is a good reason for this, and many students drink it regularly. Such students are usually disappointed to discover why it is so cheap.

The DB group's website explains that Double Brown is "typically enjoyed by mates." It is also popular with beneficiaries.

Double Brown is produced in DB's main brewery Auckland.

Double Brown is Stratford, Taranaki's most drunken brew.

Until recently, Tui was the most commonly drunk alcoholic beverage in the Wairarapa, but recent surveys indicate that it is now Double Brown
