The Double-A Zone (www.doubleazone.com) is the official blog of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Launched in November 2005, the blog is an open forum to discuss the hot topics of intercollegiate athletics. The Double-A Zone is administered by NCAA staff member Josh Centor, a former baseball student-athlete at Brandeis University.
The NCAA blog offers a number of recurring features, most notably Mondays With Myles, a weekly podcast with NCAA President Myles Brand. Dr. Brand tackles a wide range of topics on his podcasts and also welcomes questions from members of the public. Also prominent on the Double-A Zone are guest posts from NCAA student-athletes. Past guest bloggers include Lee Melchionni, Laura Harper and Shelby Stiner.
The Double-A Zone also offers both audio and video interviews with high-profile guests. In the past, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell and softball standout Cat Osterman have appeared on the blog.
Recently, the NCAA launched the 3-Minute Drill, a new video news program that spans the world of intercollegiate athletics. The program is hosted on NCAA Online and the Double-A Zone.
