Dosan Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dosan Line (土讃線 Dosan-sen?) is a Japanese railway line of Shikoku Railway Company (JR Shikoku) between Tadotsu Station in Tadotsu, Kagawa and Kubokawa Station in Shimanto, Kōchi, in the island of Shikoku. The line links the city of Kōchi and northern Shikoku, and the island of Honshū via Seto-Ōhashi Line. The first section of the line, between Tadotsu and Kotohira, opened in 1889. The whole line was completed in 1951. The name of the line comes from Tosa (土佐?) and Sanuki (讃岐?), the old provinces of present Kōchi Prefecture and Kagawa Prefecture, respectively.
