I've ocmmented out the map, as it shows an incorrect location for Dorwinion. In Pauline Baynes' authorative map, Dorwinion is at the delta of the river at the northwestern shore of the Sea of Rhûn: [1] -- Jordi·✆ 14:57, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

I have deleted the speculations on the etymology of the place-name, and replaced it with what is cited in Parma Eldalamberon 17. RashBold (talk · contribs) 19:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
