Something is confused in this sentence. Should it be: "an officer of the OBE" ? Or just "granted an OBE"?
- Just OBE. I have corrected this. the 'O' as in 'Order' doesn't get an 'O' in the abbreviation, thus a Member of the Order of the British Empire' is MBE, not MOBE, a Commander is CBE not COBE and an Officer is OBE, not OOBE. Simhedges 12:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Added to LC section a description of how LC and HofN are part of one larger work.

Cleaned up intro to HofN and added to HofN a para that contrasts LC with HofN in scope, use of historical characters, and style.

I have revised some of the more subjective elements of this, as they are disputed or are unclear - I don't know what an "colourful, kaleidoscopic style." style is, but I'm not sure that HoN has it any more than LC; "If the Lymond Chronicles is a multidimensional chess match -- history from the top down, The House of Niccolò is a sprawling but intricate game with multitudes of players -- history from the bottom up." - These terms might be good in an into to a longer essay which expands the theme - but are not appropriate to a factual encyclopaedia unless they are quotes of someone else's opinion.

This is indeed tricky, but I think important to try our best to address style. Agree with the delete. I don't think we need to note that some readers like one series more than the other -- that's to be expected. That there are differences in both narrative approach and writing style is factual without a qualifier since it doesn't require an expert to tell from reading a few random pages from both series. We ought to also be able to indicate somehow that those differences are deliberate artistic choices because she was telling quite different stories. I took another crack at the sentence.

I've grouped all the Historical Fiction together -- that way King Hereafter doesn't get buried as an afterthought in Other Works. I've also moved the Companions to Historical Fiction. I recognize that they are not themselves fiction, but they concern most of her historical fiction, and they also include the massive bibliography for LC and HoN. I chose "Fiction" rather than "Novels", given the unity of both series as single works, and their connections that allow them to be viewed as one massive work.
[edit] Official Title of The/the Lymond Chronicles
A question -- In looking at my Vintage copies of LC, the official title of LC appears to be "Lymond Chronicles" without the definite article "The". I've used the definite article, lower case, in sentences for readability but eliminated "The" in the headings. I'm more than willing to stand corrected. If indeed "The" is part of the title, then the name of the article on the series should be changed from Lymond Chronicles to include "The" and "the" should be capitalized in sentences to conform.
I've responded to some email list comments on the description of the characters/style in HoN. Hopefully it is now an objective description and less a subjective assessment. It also avoids making such a pointed comparison with LC.
Edited JJ description for readibility.
I found a few errors, wikified Macbeth and Thorfinn and did a bit of format cleanup.

I like adding the info on what types of scenes (action-filled, comedy, etc.). Did a bit of revision to make it a bit less subjective-sounding. Didn't know what "evocative" was.
Let's not put a spoiler (Philippa) in a summary.
