The Dorothea von Stetten Art Award ( German: Dorothea von Stetten Kunstpreis) is presented since 1984 biannually to an artist younger than 36 whose work demonstrates interesting perspective and possibilities of advancement. It is not possible to apply for consideration, but an independent nomination committee selects five nominees.
The work of these nominees is judged by a five strong jury of experts that cannot include any person of the nomination committee. This jury decides whom to award the prize to and has the final decision.
The award consists of 10.000 euro and an exposition in the Art Museum Bonn, Germany.
