Doraisingam Pillai
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Datuk Doraisingam Pillai is the CEO of the Lotus chain of restaurants and companies, which include music shops and cineplexes. He was awarded the Malaysian Indian Entrepreneur of 2005 by Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry's (MAICCI).
In The Star report dated February 4, 2005 by Krishnamorthy, Doraisingam was portrayed to be a rags to riches success story of selling pencil, rubber, fish and coconuts to his friends in younger days. However, many doubt this as he is from the bloodline of the late tycoon NTS Arumugam Pillai.[who?]
