The logo is used on the page List of Italian PDO cheeses as a visual identifier of the subject matter of the article and of the labelling which will be encountered on these products. The same rationale applies to the page Category:Italian Protected designation of origin. Its use is also indicated in articles on the individual products (cheeses and other) which are produced in Italy under Denominazione di Origine Protetta regulation and are members of this category.
