{{helpme}}I am having some difficulty with creating an infobox. I have read the various FAQ's and Help material, googled extensively, but I need help with the EXACT STEPS that are required to create an infobox for the following page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Strong

Done. I have placed the correct infobox in the article with the common parameters. Just fill in the missing information. You can add additional parameters as well: see {{Infobox person}} for a complete list.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:08, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I have discovered that you replaced preexisting text with all new text, and in doing so, removed all of the referenced material, categories, wikification and other proper WP:MOS edits, the references section, external links section, etc. All of the text you added remains in the article's history, which you can access by clicking on the history tab at the top (see Help:Page history). This does not mean that the substantial material you were attempting to add was not valuable. However, Wikipedia, as an encyclopedia, is a tertiary source, thus requiring that all material be a synthesis of already published that can be verified through reliable sources. This means that while many articles don't yet have sources, the material must by veriifiable and if not, must be excised. Replacing sourced material with unsourced material (among other things you removed) is, thus, a step backwards. You can add material of course, but integrate it with the existing material; especially those parts that are sourced, and please strive to cite sources for the material you add.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:27, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks for the help with the infobox. I have noted your comments and will be adding the sources, links etc to the page. However, Most of the information contained in the earlier version of the page, together with the reference material is a gross distortion about the facts concerning the individual and is shockingly bad. The earlier version has been referred to Wikipedia disinformation. It is a very good example of the misuse of Wikipedia and its democratic rights. This is a serious matter and I have requested that the page be protected or semi-protected. --Dondesnet (talk) 23:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Maurice Strong

Please provide adequate sourcing for the information you have included in Maurice Strong. Fred Bauder (talk) 17:09, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Actually I see you do supply a number of references, but those references need to be linked up to specific sources, including the page, or other specific location the information was found at. I did not realize he had a website and will be looking at it and the information it contains. However, you did remove sourced information from the pre-existing article which I suggest you reintegrate into the article in an appropriate manner. Fred Bauder (talk)

Please provide the correct provenance of Image:Maurice_strong.jpg at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:Maurice_strong.jpg It seems unlikely you created this image on December 29, 2007. However, a reasonable explanation might clarify things. Fred Bauder (talk) 17:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

The information on the photo has been revised. User Dondesnet 18:53, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
With an unknown source the image has no place on Commons, but might be justified as fair use. Fred Bauder (talk) 19:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
