Don Hazeltine is an American painter. He was born on September 7, 1950 in Portland, Oregon to Nelson Cory Hazeltine, a free-lance copy writer, and to Mary Elizabeth (McGregor) Hazeltine, a pianist.
From 1968 to 1970 he studied in Seattle, Washington at the Burnley School of Professional Art. When vocational school draft deferrments were discontinued by Richard Nixon, he fled back to Portland to enroll in the Portland Art Museum's school of art. After one semester the school requested his absence. He then enlisted in the Air Force.
His work is primarily in the fine-arts; however, he has also contributed fantasy art to Wizards of the Coast for that company's Magic, the Gathering role-playing game.
