[edit] Season 10

Are Donald and Douglas returning in Season 10? When will they come back? Felix 10:48, 11 August 2006

There is no possible way of knowing. This is a pointless discussion. Gonzerelli 02:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, Donald and Douglas never appeared in Seasons 8 and 9 and I doubt they might come back any time soon. Felix 15:38, 18 August 2006

I do hope Donald and Douglas come back soon, they where my favorite characters. HIT should of put them in the steam team with Emily. CourtneyBonnick 17:27, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Missing Coach - Missing Episode?

There is a popular rumour among fans of the series that a single episode about the Twins was filmed whose tape was later lost in tape storage. This story was one from 'The Twin Engines' called 'The Missing Coach'. The rumour arose from a photograph published in a 1989 Annual that showed one of the Twins without his nameplate, shunting a coach. This scene did not appear in any episode shown on Yorkshire Television. This, combined with the engine's lack of nameplate (implying that it was a story from 'The Twin Engines') and the fact that a coach was being shunted (as happens in 'The Missing Coach') gave rise to speculation that the episode was filmed whose tape is lost in storage at Shepperton Studios.

Beyond the photograph, the evidence for this is weak. It is unlikely that an entire episode whose tape might have been lost, as this would be a remarkable lack of professionalism on the studio's part. It is unlikely that the episode was filmed, as this would have brought the number of episodes in the show's second series up to 27, instead of the usual 26. The photograph was most likely either a promotional shot or a long-since deleted scene from 'The Deputation' or 'Break Van' episodes, another episode titled 'Hullo Twins' also filmed whose tape was also lost in storage as this also would have brought the second series up to 28 However there was also an episode titled 'Drip Tank' also filmed & whose tape is also lost in storage & would of either brought the second series up to 29.

The above section – which I have copy-edited slightly (to correct spellings/grammar (no text removed) – was added by an anon editor (and removed by me) today. While it is an intriguing story, it is really just pure speculation on the part of fans and therefore cannot be included in a WP article. If Reliable Sources can be found for the story then we can re-instate it although it will be necessary to remove most of the rather repetitive second paragraph.
