[edit] Justification for my removal

I have removed the sentence:

"Don Moen's name is synonymous with praise and worship music, having written and recorded many worship favorites sung in the church today."

For the following reason:

  • synonymous means different words with similar or identical meanings and are interchangable. Clearly Moen's name is not "identical or similar" to "praise and worship music". I appreciate it is a turn of phrase, but an encyclopaedia deals in factual language, not opinions or implications.
  • "having written and recorded many worship favorites sung in the church today" is a meaningless phrase in global terms. What church? Which religion? This sentence must be more specific if it is to be included, as there is a world of churches outside the US bible belt where modern Christian music is popular in churches.

I'd appreciate it if the editor who is reverting this would justify their position here also. Thanks. Rockpocket (talk) 06:24, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

I have now reverted the article 3 times - explaining why each time - and will not revert again. User:Park john u has done likewise, without any justification of explanation. Should this editor revert again they will be in breach of WP:3RR and may be liable for a block. I implore the editor to discuss their edits here, rather than simply re-inserting POV material into, what should be, a very non controversial bio. Thanks. [edit] How old is he?

A good biography needs a birthdate... please add

[edit] Major copyedit

Ok, so i have just spent an hour or so, copyediting, wikifying and categorising all of Moen's albums. I have also created a category for them (Category:Don Moen albums), moved them all to their most simple title when possible, added disambigs where appropriate and removed all double redirects (i hope). If any editor plans to make futher articles on Moen's albums, could they please use one of the current ones a a template. Thank you. Rockpocket 08:05, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
