Donte Whitner (born July 24, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American football safety who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Bills in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Ohio State University. His brother, Lindsey Witten, is a DE for the University of Connecticut.

Whitner attended Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio and was a good student and a football star. After his senior football season, he was invited to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game. An excellent student, Whitner graduated with a 3.7 grade point average.[citation needed] He majored in Consumer Affairs.[1]
