Donna Allard

Donna Allard (aka Acadian Rose) is a Canadian poet.

Allard was born in Moncton, raised in the fishing village of Richibucto and now resides in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. She is an Anglophone poet and volunteers in humanitarian causes. Presently the President of the Canadian Poetry Association (CPA), founder of Chocolate River Poetry Association & Festival [1]. Her expertise was a judge for the 2004 Acorn-Plantos Book Award (named after Milton Acorn and Ted Plantos) and 2004 Arts Hamilton Literary Award. She is listed in the Canadian Poets Registry. She served for several years on the board of directors for the National Milton Acorn Poetry Festival, PEI Canada. She has credits in various anthologies and has edited three collections: Postal Code II, No Love Lost II, & Poetea for Six - CPA Signature Series. Presently she is Editor for the CPA magazine POEMATA, and publisher for the 2005 CPA 20th Anniversary Anthology, Harvesting Treasures, under River Bones Press. Her first book is titled Minago Streets, 2nd is titled Hands Upon the Dunes, the 3rd unpublished manuscript is titled Bellwalker, all part of a trilogy. In 2005 placed 3rd for the World Poetry contest for Pablo Neruda 101st Celebration, Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver, BC, for Pablo is an Island. She has accepted the position of poetry editor for PFLAG a Canadian online magazine.
