Dongargaon is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rajnandgaon district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.

Dongargaon is located at 20.97° N 80.85° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 304 metres (997 feet).

Famous politician here are Dr.Raman Singh. CM of Chattisgarh.Geeta Devi Singh. Earlier Dr Jairam Iyer was MLA also his brother Dr S Mahadev Iyer also played a vital role in the development of the town.

As of 2001 India census[2], Dongargaon had a population of 11,571. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Dongargaon has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78% and, female literacy is 64%. In Dongargaon, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Today Dongargaon is not a village its growing fast and have a lot of things you can only find in a developed town.
