Dong Zhao (156 - 236) was a minister that served under the Kingdom of Wei during the Three Kingdoms era of China. Dong Zhao was the one who suggested to Cao Cao and Emperor Xian, that the capital should be moved to Xuchang. Dong Zhao was also the one who wrote the proposal to the Emperor confirming Cao Cao the title of Duke of Wei. After Cao's death, Dong Zhao supported Cao Pi, and during an expedition against Wu, Dong Zhao called on Cao Pi to order his generals to retreat at once as the Wu army may ambush them and lead to a serious, and tragic defeat. Cao Pi immediately agreed, and ordered all generals to retreat. As predicted, the Wu army did try to ambush but due to Dong Zhao's intelligence, the ambush plan was ruined.
