Donaufestival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Donaufestival is an annual festival of music and performance that takes place each April in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. In the early years of the festival, two towns were used as locations - Krems and Korneuburg. For the 2007 event, however, only Krems was used.
The festival tends to showcase avant-garde rock, noise and electronica artists. In 2007, the first weekend was curated by the English singer and lyricist David Tibet. Tibet's group Current 93 played, as did many associated artists such as Nurse With Wound, Bonnie Prince Billy and Cyclobe. The second weekend featured a pair of performances by the reformed Throbbing Gristle, alongside appearances by artists such as the Boredoms and the Gang of Four.
