Donald Wood-Smith

Donald Wood-Smith, MD, FACS, FRCS is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and an Attending Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He is also Chairman of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Wood-Smith has been practicing plastic surgery since 1970, and is recognized nationally and internationally for his pioneering work in cosmetic surgery (PS 2007). He performs a wide array of both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, specializing in cosmetic surgery of the nose, face, and breasts and also liposuction body recontouring (Dr. Wood-Smith 2007). He is internationally well-known with offices in Manhattan, London, and Moscow. Born in Sydney, Australia, Dr. Wood-Smith was educated at Newington College and the University of Sydney Medical School and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland (Dr. Wood-Smith 2007).

Dr. Wood-Smith is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastics Surgeons (ASAPS), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the British Association of Plastic Surgeons (Dr. Wood-Smith 2007). From 1997-2005, Dr. Wood-Smith was featured in New York Magazine’s list of the "Best Doctors in New York" (CS 2004).
