Donald E. Washkewicz

Donald E. Washkewicz is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Parker Hannifin Corporation located in Cleveland, Ohio, effective October 27, 2004. He served as Chief Executive Officer since July 2001 and as President since February 3, 2000.

Washkewicz joined Parker in 1972 as an engineer at the Hose Products Division, was Manager of Research and Development and was named General Manager of the Parflex Division in 1982. He has demonstrated successful leadership in two of the company’s operating groups, as Vice President of the Fluid Connectors Group and, later as President of the Hydraulics Group.

Mr. Washkewicz has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He received an honorary doctorate degree for Engineering from Cleveland State University in May of 2004. Mr. Washkewicz is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Washkewicz is on the boards of Greater Cleveland Partnership and MAPI. He also serves on the NFPA (National Fluid Power Association) Education Committee. He is also a member of NAM.

Mr. Washkewicz has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University in 2002, and the 2002 George B. Davis Distinguished Alumnus Award from Cleveland State University and Fenn College of Engineering. In addition, Mr. Washkewicz received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2003.

Mr. Washkewicz was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Don, his wife, Pam, and their three children, Dawn, Tiffany, and Bryan currently reside in Solon, Ohio.
