Donald E. Campbell

Born February 16, 1906, Donald E. Campbell, M.D. was a physician in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the only doctor there for decades. He practiced family medicine in Berkshire County for 50 years, retiring at the age of 83. He was the model for the doctor in one of Norman Rockwell's most well-known paintings, ["Before the Shot,"http://legacy.earbuzz.com/grandpa] done in 1958. He reportedly chipped his teeth on water glasses at dinner time to entertain family. He died in Stockbridge on May 14, 2001.
