Don Staples

Don Staples (born July 9, 1939 in Billings, Montana) is an American-born big band musician.

Known for playing the trombone, he was a member of the Lawrence Welk orchestra from 1966 to 1982 in which he also appeared on the maestro's weekly television show. Prior to joining Welk, he attended UCLA and was a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale and the San Francisco Ballet orchestra.

Don is the father of two daughters, Debbie and Sheryl, the latter is the Principal Associate Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic
