Don Mills Middle School is a middle school in Toronto, Ontario of some 400 students in a mixed-income, ethnically diverse area.[1] The school was known as Don Mills Junior High until 1986.
DMMS shares its building with Don Mills Collegiate Institute, a high school, although they have different street addresses. The two schools share a library and all of its resources (books, videos and computers), but no other rooms.
[edit] Programs and activities
Educational programs and co-curricular activities offered by the school include a yearbook club, boys' reading club, a Students Taking an Active Role (STAR) program and band.[2] Sports offered include basketball, soccer, volleyball and touch football.
The CyberARTS program is open to students from outside school boundaries and promotes the integration of literacy, numeracy and the arts.[3]
[edit] Honor and merit rolls
Don Mills Middle School has an honor and merit roll assembly each term, to recognize the students who achieved average grades over 74.5%, which is a potential Merit roll, and over 79.5%, which is a potential Honor Roll. A final Principal's Honor Roll, which is an average over 89%, has been achieved by only one person in over 4 years.
