Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School

Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Takoma Park, Maryland. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington.The school finished renovation in 2007 and is currently educating its first class of students for 2011.This school is one of the many schools in the Cristo Rey network. The current president is Fr. Steve Shafran. The current principal is Chris Maloney. Alicia Bondanella is the Executive Director of the Corporate Work Study Program. The students work one day a week (Tues-Fri) plus one Monday per month.

Cristo Rey HS opened in August, 2007 and will graduate its first class in 2011. It is part of the Cristo Rey Network of high schools, the original being Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago.As of the end of the first school year the demographics are predominantly half black and half latino. the school is well behaved and will immediatly release those who behave amiss. word.

In January 2008, Loyola Press will release a book titled More than A Dream: How One School's Vision is Changing the World (More than a Dream official site). The book, authored by G.R. Kearney, a writer and former volunteer teacher at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, documents the unlikely development of the Cristo Rey model and its success throughout the United States.
