Don Baker (political scientist)

William Donald Baker, Ph.D. (born 1966) is an emerging American political scientist currently employed by the United States Department of State.
Baker previously taught American Studies, World Studies, Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History, AP American Government, and AP Comparative Government at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. Baker, a 1983 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood, Arkansas, received his B.A. in Foreign Service and his M.A. in Political Science from Baylor University, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Alabama. He has taught at the University of Alabama, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Webster University, Pulaski Technical College, the University of Central Arkansas, and the Arkansas Governor's School for the Gifted and Talented.
Baker's work has been published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Southeastern Political Review, Midsouth Political Science Review, Strategic Insights, the Encyclopedia of American Law, the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy, the Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court, the Encyclopedia of the Great Depression and New Deal, the Encyclopedia of the United States Congress, and Uniting States. He has served on the executive boards of the Arkansas Political Science Association, the Arkansas Council for the Social Sciences, the Central Arkansas Chapter of the United Nations Association, and on the editorial board of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies' Encyclopedia of Arkansas History & Culture. In 2002, he was elected to the Board of Education of the Pulaski County Special School District.
Baker will be situated in Latin America, scheduled for Mexico City in May 2006.
