Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Memory leak, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 03:09, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Will Atkinson (Musician)
A tag has been placed on Will Atkinson (Musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Closedmouth (talk) 15:00, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, the page was speedy deleted because it met a criterion for speedy deletion WP:CSD#A7. The new version doesn't warrant speedy deletion now, but please consider adding sources to verify notability of the subject or the article may be deleted at WP:AFD sooner or later. Best wishes, --PeaceNT (talk) 13:55, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

- Hi again, I understand that you might be really busy, but it's probably a good idea to next time try writing an article in your user subpage first and only move it to the mainspace when the piece is entirely ready. The page you created may have been a borderline case where some admins may lean towards deletion. That said, I'll contact the deleting admin. (Also, Wikipedia users like you and me are volunteers, which means no one is required to make this or that particular type of "contributions". Editors who "run around" patrolling new content to make sure it's suitable for the encyclopedia are helping as much as editors who write. We can't see eye to eye on everything; disagreements happen all the time, but it's part of the fun, isn't it? ;) Please don't feel discouraged from editing here!). Best wishes, --PeaceNT (talk) 14:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
