[edit] Profanity in film

Usage of profanity has caused controversy throughout film history,[citation needed]. Many films have become known for the large amount of swears. South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut holds a Guinness World Record for most profanity in an animated film.[citation needed] The film Glengarry Glenn Ross and its play adaption have an unusually large amount of profanity. Director Quentin Tarantino is known for the large amount of profanity in his films especially his early films Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, including usage of the words fuck, motherfucker and racial slurs such as nigger. Many films have been criticized for their large swear counts, but many have been praised as being more realistic because of this.[citation needed]

[edit] Fuck

The word fuck has been highly controversial and as a result was subject to censorship.[citation needed] Multiple uses of the word are often reason enough for the MPAA to give a film an R rating.
