[edit] argument for keeping the article a part of wikipedia

the article this discussion concerns is admittedly of a limited geography, of interest to less to less than ten thousand people i would hazard to guess, almost all of which are in the northeast of north america. moreover, i support efforts made to have wikipedia as global as possible. nevertheless i would like to suggest three points on the topic of making the encyclopedia more global. the first is that the onus is on users from areas that are underrepresented in the encyclopedia to add to the areas they are informed in. beautifully, language is not a barrier to adding to this endeavour. if the anti-bias campaign is then addressed at the breadth of articles available in english, then i am in greater support of it and would gladly like to see the article i wrote eliminated, if there is simply not enough space in wikipedia for the article. is this the issue i wonder? if it is not than the second point i would like to offer is summed up in the addage, "the whole is the sum of the parts". the global context is a composite of copious interacting local contexts. a chair first bought in Bangor, Maine is obtained second-hand by a Korean tourist whose Iranian acquaintance wonders where about the chair's origins - or what have you. in 120 years of operation with 50+ workers at it, one would expect several occurrences of such an incidence. given the space, having such info on Wikipedia fully complies with its greater mandate of providing the whole of human knowledge availble for ready reference
