[edit] Background and first episodes

Domon Kasshu is the tough and silent pilot of Neo Japan, who was once trained by the great martial artist, Master Asia and earned his master's title of the King of Hearts. Now that the 13th Gundam Fight has begun, the pilot however has other things in mind: To seek out Kyoji Kasshu, his older brother.

One year earlier, the Kasshu family was found working on an "evil machine" known as the Devil Gundam (the Dark Gundam in the English dub). Domon found out that Kyoji was behind it all and that he had stolen the Devil Gundam and headed for Earth. Domon's mother, Mikino, was killed in the conflict and Doctor Raizo Kasshu, Domon and Kyoji's father, was sentenced to a frozen state for constructing the Devil Gundam. Domon enters as Neo Japan's fighter and pilot of their GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam to find his brother and make him pay for what he had done.

[edit] Shinjuku arc

After many victories against many of the world nation's pilots, Domon and his partner Rain Mikamura arrive in Tokyo to only be confronted by an Army of the Devil Gundam. Though Domon and Rain make an attempt to escape, it seemed like the end, but the appearance of a mysterious stranger, who happened to be Domon's old martial art teacher Master Asia, comes to their aid. After making short work of the Death Army, Domon tells Master Asia about what happened to his family and why he became a Gundam fighter.

Shortly after a moment of peace in the ruined city, a massive army of the Devil Gundam begins its attack on Tokyo. Domon joins Master Asia and his small band of pilots in the conflict and manages to save the city. But something is not right and it appears that Domon's master has joined the Devil Gundam, saying that the Devil Gundam's three special theories are what this world needs in order to be revived.

Master Asia attacks his former student, and reveals that he is the pilot of Master Gundam, one of the Four Kings of Devil Gundam, but is stopped by the peacekeeping forces known as the Shuffle Alliance who have been watching the Gundam Fight. After making a short recovery, Domon wants to know why his master betrayed him and sets out to meet him.

As Domon and Master Asia meet, the Devil Gundam rises from under Tokyo and Domon is confronted by four pilots whom he had fought, Neo America's Chibodee Crocket, Neo China's Sai Saici, Neo France's George de Sand, and Neo Russia's Argo Gulskii. These pilots have been infected by DG Cells, and are stronger than they were in their last match. When the Shuffle Alliance comes to Domon's aid during the fight, they realize that the four pilots where destinied to be the new Shuffle Alliance, and sacrifice themselves for these four pilots.

After the death of the older Shuffle Alliance, Domon activates his Shining Gundam's Super Mode and forces Master Asia to retreat. In the process of the battle, a stranger known only as Neo Germany's pilot Schwarz Bruder appears and convinces Domon that he is not ready yet to face the Devil Gundam, and should instead seek further training.

[edit] In the Guyana Highlands

Thus, Domon goes to the Guyana Highlands, where he originally trained with Master Asia. With Schwarz's help, the other members of the new Shuffle Alliance are convinced to train as well. In the final battle in the Highlands, Domon stays behind while the rest of the Shuffle Alliance heads to Neo Hong Kong where the finals will be held. Neo-Russia's Nastasha Zabigov takes a sickly Rain with her, promising to provide her safe passage.

Domon defeats the Dark Gundam, but in anger, Master Asia damages the Shining Gundam. Fortunately, Rain had contacted her father, who sends the GF13-017NJII Burning Gundam (God Gundam in the Japanese Version), the Gundam that Neo-Japan's Government had been saving for the finals. With Rain's help, the new Burning Gundam is given Shining Gundam's battle data.

[edit] Finals of the Gundam Fights

During the finals, Domon moves into a junk ship in Neo-Hong Kong to suit his needs and vows to defeat Master Asia. He is determined to remain undefeated in the tournament in order to reach his former master. However, unbeknownst to him, Master Asia has arranged for Domon to fight against the strongest opponents in order to toughen him up because the Devil Gundam needs a new life core unit; Kyoji, who had been the life core, is in bad shape after the battle in the Guyana Highlands, and since he can't replace Kyoji due to his failing health, Master Asia plans to use Domon as the Devil Gundam's new life core.

Domon also meets and quickly befriends Neo-Sweden's Allenby Beardsley, pilot of the Nobel Gundam. Allenby is Neo-Sweden's test subject for their Berserker system, which increases her fighting power at a loss of her personal control over her actions. Allenby develops a crush on Domon, much to Rain's chagrin.

Prime Minister Wong Yu Fat, who is the leader of Neo-Hong Kong, and one of the Devil Gundam's supporters, suspects that Domon had broken into the facilities and seen the Devil Gundam, unaware that the real perpetrator was Schwarz. In revenge, Wong uses dirty tactics, an electromagnet under the fighting stage, during Domon's tag-team match with Allenby. Even after this scheme fails, Wong sets Domon up in matches against his Shuffle Alliance comrades.

[edit] Last stages of the Gundam Fight

After Chibodee, George, and Sai Saici are defeated, Wong devises another tag team match with Domon and Allenby against Argo Gulskii and Argo's old enemy Andrew Graham. As his experiments show the body of a woman would make a better lifecore unit for the Devil Gundam, Wong develops his own version of Neo-Sweden's Berserker System and successfully takes control of Allenby during the match.

Although Master Asia was disgusted by what had happened in the last match, Wong sets Domon up against Schwarz as the last match before the Battle Royale, since Schwarz is the only other undefeated contestant. Meanwhile, Domon gets very angry at Rain; he had left Allenby in her care after the match, but Rain was fooled by Wong's men who were posing as medics and took her away to a secret facility. This pushes Rain to resign from the Neo-Japan team.

Knowing that Domon might need some help in his next match, Master Asia arranges to meet Domon in a rundown part of town and shows that the destruction in this part of town is the result of the previous Gundam Fights. Despite Wong's interference to get rid of them both, Master Asia teaches Domon the Sekiha Tenkyoken, his most advanced technique.

Wong then arranges for the Domon-Schwarz match to take place on an arena, with bombs arranged to impose a time limit of ten minutes. Domon notices that Rain had became a part of the Neo-Germany team and that she is forced to watch Schwarz as he overwhelms Domon and Domon finds that he can't use his God Finger attack due to a damaged part in the circuitry. Although Domon swears to fight alone, Rain has a change of heart and helps Domon win the match by giving him instructions to repair the damage allowing Domon to use the Sekiha Tenkyoken technique. Domon learns that Schwarz had used Rain to teach him that he can't fight alone, and finds out that Schwarz is his brother Kyoji when Schwarz's mask comes off.

[edit] Battle Royale and Domon/Master Asia showdown

During the Battle Royale, the other members of the Shuffle Alliance nearly sacrifice themselves to defeat Gundam Heaven's Sword and Grand Gundam, two of the Four Kings of the Devil Gundam. Domon then was attacked by a Bersereker Allenby and he is saved when Rain arrived and kept Allenby busy even after the Nobel Gundam transforms into the Walter Gundam (also one of the Four Kings).

During the battle against the Devil Gundam, Domon learns from Schwarz that he is just an android copy of Kyoji created by DG cells, and that Neo-Japan's Major Ulube and Rain's father Dr. Mikamura (who have been Domon's primary contacts from Neo-Japan's government) were the real conspirators behind the Devil Gundam incident. Shortly thereafter, Schwarz decides to sacrifice himself and the original body Kyoji (which is still the life core unit of the Devil Gundam) in order to defeat the Devil Gundam; after much hesitation, a tearful Domon accepts to give him the last and killing blow.

After the Devil Gundam fight has resolved, Master Asia attacks Domon and reveals that not only is he disgusted by the current condition of the world caused by the previous Gundam fights, but also that he had joined the Devil Gundam and used Wong to help his plan to force the remaining people to space. He expresses his belief that once humanity is gone nature can restore itself. But after defeating his former sensei in battle, Domon convinces Master Asia that his plan would have failed anyway, since humans are also part of nature and that removing them from Earth wouldn't solve anything.

[edit] Final battle

Despite his victory over the Gundam Fight, Domon felt it was an empty victory without Rain, who decided to distance herself from Domon after learning from the truth of her father's involvement in the Dark Gundam incident from Schwarz. This is because she felt that her father's crimes are her crimes as well and that her family's honor (which is very important for Japanese) was tarnished; Rain couldn't face Domon, fearing that he would be angry at her.

But unknown to both of them, Ulube got ahold of the late Wong's research notes and decided to use Rain as the new life core unit after he recovered the remains of the Devil Gundam and then merged it with the Neo-Japan colony turning it into the Devil Gundam Colony.

With the help from his Shuffle Alliance allies and the now reformed Dr. Mikamura, who released Dr. Kasshu's capsule at the cost of his life (while begging Domon to apologize to Rain for him and tell her not to blame herself for his actions). The five of them are able to make it into the colony. Meanwhile other Gundam Fighters (which includes Allenby Beardsly and other acquaintances to the new Shuffle Alliance) have decided to form the Gundam World Fight Federation and work together to protect the Earth from the Devil Gundam. Domon, alongside his Shuffle Alliance allies, is able to defeat Ulube in his Grand Master Gundam which was made of pieces from each of the Four Kings, only to learn from his father that he needed to shut down the life core unit, which meant killing Rain.

Domon then went on his own to find Rain while the rest of the Shuffle Alliance dealt with the Grand Master Gundam that was rebuilt through DG cells, Domon is able to find the main body of the Devil Gundam within the Devil Gundam Colony, but is warned by his father that Rain is controlling it. With a reminder from Allenby about why Rain wanted to distance herself from Domon and further encouragement from his Shuffle Alliance friends, Domon is able to tell Rain about what her late father said and admit his feelings towards her. After Rain severs herself from the Devil Gundam, they combine their energy and use the Erupting Burning Finger Sekiha Love-Love Tenkyoken to destroy it. In the end, the two go to Earth together.
