Domo Records is an independent record label in Los Angeles, California. Domo Records was established in 1993 by Eiichi Naito. "Domo" is an abbreviation of Japanese word "Dōmo arigatō," which means "Thank you very much" in Japanese, and this name comes from Naito's great appreciation for artists.
[edit] History
Domo Records first signed with Japanese composer Kitaro, and in 1994, Kitaro won a Golden Globe for best original score with his soundtrack for the movie Heaven & Earth. In 2001, his album Thinking of You was received a Grammy Award. Domo Records kept developing this label by signing many talented artists after the success of Kitaro, and now Domo Records has become a leading independent record label providing various international artists, such as Yoshida Brothers, Twelve Girls Band, and Dave Egger.
