Dominique Mainon, born in 1970, is an author, screenwriter and filmmaker living in Laguna Beach, California. She has written several books along with noted author and film historian James Ursini including Cinema of Obsession: Erotic Obsession and Love Gone (ISBN 0879103477) and The Modern Amazons: Warrior Women On-Screen (ISBN 0879103272) , both published by Hal Leonard/Limelight Editions. She has also contributed chapters to other books such as Gangster Film Reader, edited by Alain Silver and James Ursini, and co-authored "Mae West" (ISBN 382282321X) which is part of the Taschen Movie Icons Series edited by Paul Duncan.

Dominique Mainon is currently completing two new books: Femme Fatale: A Cultural and Pictorial Survey of Cinema's Most Unforgettable Lethal Ladies (Limelight Editions, 2009) and Surburban Apocalypse: The Debasement of the American Dream in Cinema with James Ursini and Scott Tapio.
