Byrd was taken in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft at pick #93 overall. He played 5 games in the 2006 season, catching 2 balls for 39 yards and one touchdown. [1]Byrd was never to realize his potential amidst high expectations and a few off the field issues that hampered his development. The Rams are believed to have attempted to get an extra draft pick for Byrd over the weekend and when they were unable to, decided to part with him[2]
