Dombivili is a railway station on Mumbai - Pune route. It is a part of Kalyan-Dombivili municipal corporation. It is located in Thane district of Maharastra state. Dombivili is basically a residential area where people working in Mumbai mega city live.

Dombivili is cosmopolitan in nature.

Dombivili was once the only city in India with 100% literacy rate.
