[edit] About Dolores

When Dolores was married to Harry Molloy, he had an affair with her best friend, Shelly O'Connor. Dolores and Harry got back together in the aftermath of Lorraine Doyle's death, but the damage had been done and Dolores began an affair with Frank Monaghan. This resulted in Dolores becoming pregnant with Frank's child. Although Harry suspected that he wasn't the father, he allowed himself to be manipulated by Dolores. When Frank asked Dolores and Harry if the child was his, Harry angrily told him the child was Harry's. Dolores' baby was born. She was named Jessica.

Soon after this, Dolores became addicted to shopping and ended up spending loads of money on clothes. Harry eventually found out about this, but by then Dolores was stealing items to fund her addiction. Dolores began work at the Phelans to pay off her debt to them, but she realised that she was suffering from kleptomania. Harry helped her to recover from her condition.

[edit] Jessica's Death

When Jenny Byrne was babysitting Jessica, she invited her boyfriend Ross O'Rourke over. He accidentally left drugs on the floor and Jessica swallowed them. Jessica was taken to hospital, but she died days later. An angry Harry sat at Jessica's grave and saw Ross in the graveyard. Overcome with anger, Harry attacked Ross from behind with a bar, killing him instantly. When Barry O'Hanlon came across Ross' body, he ended up being the prime suspect of murdering Ross, as Ross had an illicit affair with his girlfriend Sorcha.

[edit] Starting Over

Harry had no choice but to confess everything to protect his friend. Harry was arrested, but he was released on bail. Dolores and Harry went to a hotel where Harry committed sucicide. Dolores, feeling lonely, became very regilious and started helping out at The Shelter. She quickly befriended a homeless 15 year-old girl named Cleo, believing that God had brought the girl to her. She asked Cleo to move in with her, but Cleo found herself unwilling to abide by rules and ended up stealing food for her old homeless "friends", who had manipulated her into believing that they were the only people that she could trust. The Udenzes had become lodgers, but they left once Bela Doyle leased the Bazaar to them.

Dolores discovered that Cleo had gone on the run and found out that she was only 15 years old. Determined to help her, Dolores went in search of her. Cleo, meanwhile, found herself forced into helping her friends break into an old woman's house. The old woman, Ursula, was horrified when she saw them. Cleo watched in disbelief as her friends tied her up and took some belongings. The Gardaí caught them and took them to a Garda Station. Dolores was shocked to find Cleo there and reconciled with her. Ursula moved in with Dolores and had a tough attitude towards Cleo. This diminished over time and Ursula now teaches Cleo how to cook.

When Ursula returned to her home county, Dolores and Sergei, Lana's brother, started a friendship, which seemed to become a romance, but Dolores denied this. Cleo met her old "friends" once again, but she refused to be bullied this time and went to Dolores for help. Dolores helped her to go back to school. Cleo began a relationship with Pierce.

In 2007, Ursula's son comes to stay and quickly strikes up a strong friendship with Dolores. However he leaves after he realises that she doesn't see him in any other way.

[edit] Thaddeus

Dolores then got close to Father Thaddeus Kilkelly, a priest on an exchange from England. They found that they had something in common, that someone close to them both died from suicide. The two ended up in a passionate clinch. After realising that they couldn't stay away from each other, they ended up sleeping together.

[edit] Caught

While Dolores and Thaddeus were becoming closer, Ursula and Father Bertie became suspicious and by the time they both slept together, the two realised that it was serious. Ursula, having fallen for a priest 40 years ago, tried to explain that a relationship between the two was impossible and Bertie told Thaddeus that he'd have to be moved to a different parish. Dolores became quite upset when Thaddeus put his vocation before her. She tries to reason with him during Easter confessions but becomes angry at him at starts shouting 'hippocrite' at him. Ray O'Connell just happens to be there at the time and ends up telling everyone. Dolores is then subjected to humiliation and rumours over the next few days. Both put on brave faces and Dolores manages to forgive Thaddeus and even wishes him well.
