From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doll Doll Doll is a 2001 album by breakcore artist Venetian Snares. The album is extremely dark, themed largely around the murder of children. While being a primarily breakcore album, it also featured very varied influences in keeping with Venetian Snares' style, including classical, ambient and jazz, and uses these along with other influences to make the album have a dark and atmospheric undertone.
[edit] Samples
Doll Doll Doll features numerous samples, including Apocalyptica's version of the Metallica song "Harvester of Sorrow" on the song "Dollmaker", which also contains numerous samples from the song "The Anthem" off of Sway and King Tech's album This or That, as well as a recording of what appears to be an information line for the murder of JonBenét Ramsey. "I Rent the Ocean" contains samples from Aulis Sallinen's Winter Was Hard and work by Philip Glass. "Befriend a Childkiller" features samples from the computer game Fallout 2. "Macerate and Petrify" features a distorted but recognisable sampling of the song "Silence" by Delerium (featuring Sarah McLachlan). "Pressure Torture" includes audio samples from the film The Cell. The album ended up being a major influence to the electronic genre of Terrorcore and is looked upon as one of the greatest albums in the genre.
