[edit] Regression test examples

  • These are examples that did not work as expected in previous versions. They are here for the purpose of regression testing, to help verify that new versions work at least as well as the old versions did, and do not re-introduce any old bugs by accident.

Wrong }} braces removed.

This citation uses the tag id = {{doi | 10.1126...}} :

Davis, Curt H.; Yonghong Li, Joseph R. McConnell, Markus M. Frey, Edward Hanna (24 June 2005). "Snowfall-Driven Growth in East Antarctic Ice Sheet Mitigates Recent Sea-Level Rise". Science 308 (5730): 1898 - 1901. doi:10.1126/science.1110662.

Waddell, L.M.; Moore, T.C. (2006). "Salinity of the Early and Middle Eocene Arctic Ocean From Oxygen Isotope Analysis of Fish Bone Carbonate". American Geophysical Union, Fall Meeting 2006, abstract# OS53B-1097.

Adding too much whitespace.

Boisserie, Jean-Renaud; Fabrice Lihoreau and Michel Brunet (March 2005). "Origins of Hippopotamidae (Mammalia, Cetartiodactyla): towards resolution". Zoologica Scripta 34 (2): 119-143. doi:10.1111/j.1463-6409.2005.00183.x/abs/.

Another reference the bot does not find. Google scholar finds it easily:

Maureen Byko (November 2003). "Personification: The Materials Science and Engineering of Humanoid Robots". JOM.

Result should be 10.1007/s11837-003-0202-z.

Here is a reference with a DOI that is easy to find. However, the page numbers are a range. This should be preserved.

  • Kahng, A.B.; Qinke Wang; (May 2005). "Implementation and extensibility of an analytic placer". IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems 24 (5): 734-747.

Here is one that should be easy to find, but the bot misses, perhaps because the journal name includes a wiki link. Also, the 'dash' separator is an em-dash or en-dash, this should be preserved. (It shows up oddly in the script output; don't know if it works when writing back.)

Correct answer should be DOI: 10.1086/320638.

Here is a reference without a DOI that is hard to find, perhaps because the publisher is a wiki link.

  • Fernández-Jalvo, Y.; Díez, J. C.; Cáceres, I. and Rosell, J. (September 1999). "Human cannibalism in the Early Pleistocene of Europe (Gran Dolina, Sierra de Atapuerca, Burgos, Spain)". Journal of Human Evolution 37 (34): 591-622. Academic Press. ISSN 0047-2484.

Here is a reference with a URL and a DOI already.

Here is a reference with a DOI that contains weird characters. However the bot does not find it.

  • Blanchon, Paul (1995). "Reef drowning during the last deglaciation: Evidence for catastrophic sea-level rise and ice-sheet collapse". Geology 23: 4--8.

Here is one where the entire journal title is a wiki link. Also, the pages start with 'pp. ', which should be preserved.

DOES NOT FIND JOURNAL.

Here is the same reference cited two more times, to see if the bot adds DOI multiple times.

  • Kahng, A.B.; Qinke Wang; (May 2005). "Implementation and extensibility of an analytic placer". IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems 24 (5): 734-747.
  • Kahng, A.B.; Qinke Wang; (May 2005). "Implementation and extensibility of an analytic placer". IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems 24 (5): 734-747.
DOIs STILL ADDED MULTIPLE TIMES

Here is a reference where the title has already been linked as a 'doi-inline' macro:

 DOES NOT FIND THE REFERENCE.

Here is a reference from 'Science'.

  • Kirkpatrick, S. and Gelatt Jr, CD and Vecchi, MP, (1983). "Optimization by Simulated Annealing". Science, 220,: 671,.

These three references are from signal transduction; DOI bot failed to find their DOIs on 30 April.

  • Hildebrand E. (1977). "What does Halobacterium tell us about photoreception?". Biophys. Struct. Mech. 3 (1): 69-77. PMID 857951.

And try this one--it has unicode in the title and italics in the author.

  • Bornfeldt KE, Raines EW. et al. (1995). "Platelet-derived growth factor. Distinct signal transduction pathways associated with migration versus proliferation.". Ann N Y Acad Sci 766: 416-430. PMID 7486687.

DOI bot missed this one on 2 May 2008 (italics in the author)

  • Guruvasuthevan RT, Craig JW et al (2006). "Evidence that membrane insertion of the cytosolic domain of Bcl-xL is governed by an electrostatic mechanism". J. Mol. Biol. 359 (4): 1045-1058. PMID 16650855.
