The above paragraph is plain wrong. Dogtown was the name given to Santa Monica California. Note that the only land mark mentioned in the above paragraph is the Pacific Ocean Park Pier. There is no Pacific Ocean Park Pier in Venice. Rather the Pacific Ocean Park Pier was off of Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica one mile north of Venice. The movie stated that Dogtown consisted of Venice & Santa Monica. However, every land mark in the Movie was in Santa Monica. That is, the Pacific Ocean Pier was in Santa Monica, the orignal Z - Boy skate shop was in Santa Monica, and the Dog Bowl was in the North Side of Santa Monica. Among local Venician's and Santa Monician's it is generally accepted that the movie stated that Dogtown also encompassed Venice because Venice had more of edge and that it made for a better story. Dogtown is Santa Monica.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Nbenjamin79 (talk • contribs)

I agree with the above statement. Dogtown was Santa Monica California. Bay Street, the Hill you saw the Zephyr team skating down is Santa Monica, also. Having grown up in Dogtown I know these things. Santa Monica was Dogtown and Venice was Ghosttown. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.104.179.88 (talk • contribs)

No documented references for excluding Venice, California from the location description of Dogtown. ~ Five 5 fingers 11:35 PM, 10 Sept 2007 (UTC)
