I just got done watching a former favorite show Dr. Phil. I hope I speak for most parents out here who feel that private conversations with their children are private. This was a TOTAL SET UP DOG. I have not in 25 years been recorded. I am at this time refusing to watch any programing on A&E until my favorite show DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER IS RETURNED. At at this time I will stick with my son's opinion on the DR PHIL SHOW. Does he even have a degress? You know, back when I was growing up, we kept family business PRIVATE. If I had let slip what my dad considered "private family business" outside of our little house in Green Bay, he would have taken out granddad’s leather razor strop and whipped my ass until I couldn't sit for a week. God only knows what would have happened if I had made tapes and sold them to the Enquirer!

[edit] Expand Racial Audiotape Section?

i'm not really too wikipedia savvy, but i really think the audiotape section needs expansion. dog doesn't just use the N-word several times, he is heard on the tape basically saying he doesn't want an N-word bringing down his career because he uses the N-word, and threatens to essentially disown his son if he brings home an african american girlfriend. i think the CONTENT of what was said is more important than the simple use of the dreaded "N-word". it isn't as though he just used the slur, he made his feelings on black people clear in a private conversation. obviously that's the POV way of saying it, but i think there is definitely an NPOV way of inserting into the section that dog's comments were generally derogatory towards african americans, and went far beyond "use of the N-word". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.144.38.184 (talk) 15:14, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Why does this name keep popping up, yet there is no mention of her in the official DTBH website or on the AETV.com site? because of the vandalism an internet magazine actually copied and pasted from this site believing all the information to be fact, including the name Jessica Harsh that was somehow included in the article. If anyone can verify this person as a cast member of the show, (example, which episode and what part does she play in the story of Dog The Bounty Hunter) I'd be happy to keep the name in, but for now, it will get deleted.

Not sure how to use talk so ill put this here and hopefully you will see it... Im not sure what the name of the episodes she was in but she was in about 4 of them and in one she stated that she doesnt like to be filmed because she doesnt want her family getting as mush attention as the Chapmans and she has been one of then hunters since 2003 i believe. she mostly only hunts with them when not filming now...(she has since married and is now Jessica Cena) I believe it was the fisrt season she was in and was only on screen for a few moments except for the one where she said what she said about her family she was on that one for a few minutes her face was blurred out on the ones she was on..

Agreed. The show is about Dog the bounty hunter. Dog the bounty was arrested while bounty hunting. Seems it should be in the article.

[edit] Legality of Extradition

Since when does the U.S. work so closely with the Mexican government in order to put one of its own citizens in a Mexican prison?

The US has an extradition treaty with Mexico. That means that, for example, if someone commits murder in the US and goes to Mexico to hide, the Mexican authorities pledge to try to arrest them and return them to the US. Similarly, if someone commits a crime in Mexico and tries to hide in the US, the US is bound to try to extradite them to Mexico. 152.23.91.160 18:24, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

That isn't very clear at all. I see two possibilities: 1) The person who committed the crime in Mexico was a Mexican citizen who fled to the United States. 2) The person who committed the crime in Mexico was a United States citizen who came back to the United States. This is a HUGE difference in how things like this play out. Especially since the crime was not murder or anything severe according to the standards of the United States. Hypothetically if the United States doesn't agree with the level of severity of punishment that the other country wants them for, I do not believe the United States would hand over its citizens. For example, if the Principality of Sealand made a death penalty law against trespassing in the ocean immediately surrounding their dinky little territory. Does that mean the United States is obliged to extradite all sailors that come within 100 yards of their territory? (Even under that treaty?) Yeah right. DavidPesta 19:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
To my knowledge, the US does not even diplomatically recognize the Principality of Sealand, much less maintain an extradition treaty with them. If the country in question shows a habit of making frivolous laws, other countries will not only terminate the treaties, but probably seek to censure them in the U.N. Let's not forget that Mexico refused to cooperate in the capture of Andrew Luster until after Dog had already caught the guy. This is because Mexico practically condones rape. It is common knowledge that corruption is rampant in Mexico and that they are totally ambivilant toward rape as a crime. As such, they did not find Luster's crime to be so bad and refused to help catch him. Then they want Dog to spend years in prison for catching the guy? I really hate Mexico. We should be down there taking them over instead of in Iraq. -Brandon Harwell

I live in Washington and lastnight was the first time that I caught any information about this case. that is really sad to me as to his goal is helping people and doing justice. And lastnight is a little late for people to start helping.

I can find nothing about his death in the news. Where did this report come from? Can we get a cit. on this?

I just found out that he will be appearing on CNN's Headline News with Glenn Beck tomorrow Tuesday April 9, 2007 at 6 PM. So no, there is no accurate news about him being dead. DavidPesta 23:42, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Can somebody please put up info on the prison sentence he served? The article simply states that he is an ex-convict. I was hoping they would bring Dog the Bounty Hunter back on t.v. It was one of my favorite programs and I can't believe it ended like that. I agree with everyone who says a private conversation is private. People say alot of things in private that they normally wouldn't say in public and if they are going to judge Dog for doing that then they better judge every person alive. What I think is so funny is that anyone can say anything,public or private about Native American Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Hispanics, etc. and nothing happens but if someone says something bad about an African American, WATCH OUT! I am saying this as someone who is not prejudice.I would just like to see everyone be treated equally. Would Dog's show have been cancelled if he would have told his son or daughter that they better not ever date a pollack? I DON"T THINK SO! We are all equal and all say things about others that we shouldn't. Get over it!

Thank goodness.....someone has come their senses and brought The Dog back. It was a good show and I, along with thousands of viewers really enjoyed his show. Thank you for bringing me some good, enjoyable TV. I stopped watching A&E all together. Why is there no mention of the whole nigger incident (I assume from the talk page, that it was here before). I don't know much about it, but I read (possibly on the A&e page) that it was his son who leaked the recordings. Regardless of who did it, it needs to be mentioned here, most pages have a controversy section (where it applies) and since this was the reason for the show being on a hiatus, it should go here. And I also made some minor edits in the 2006 arrest section, it constantly referred to them as 'Duane Dog Chapman, Leland Chapman and Tim Chapman' I didn't see the need to include their last names every time, and it should be either Duane or Dog in most cases. In some parts I simply refer to them as the trio (it was used once before, when it mentions the chapman trio captured luster) Tydamann (talk) 12:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
