Doggen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doggen is the pseudonym of the Nottingham born guitarist Tony Foster (born 1966).

He made his earliest musical mark in 1990 as a session guitarist in Los Angeles, California, contributing to the Use Your Illusion demos by Guns N' Roses. In 1992, Doggen made his British debut on the Julian Cope album, Jehovahkill, eventually replacing Cope's guitarist Mike Mooney, when the latter defected to Spiritualized. Doggen made his concert debut with Cope at the 1996 Reading Festival, and the two formed the power trio Brain Donor in 1999. Later the same year, the guitarist replaced Mike Mooney in Spiritualized, although he continued to work with Brain Donor and Julian Cope.

He has retained this dual role up to the present day, and also leads his own band DØGNTANK, whose debut album was released in 2006 on Brain Donor Records.
